AMAZING Tribe Meeting... 1/27/08

The other night I went to my small group/"tribe" meeting! It was the first time in a long time where I wasn't the only student to show up, there were 4 of us. It was great to have that group dynamic...even though I loved my one-on-one time with Aly. Anyway, we talked about Psalm 84 and it was really great to hear what God was speaking to all of us.

In verse 10, it says: "Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked."

This is what GOD spoke to me:
"Do you really believe this? Your time belongs to me and you must get to the point where you are willing to sacrifice anything to spend time with me. I want your time and attention, I long to be with you and speak to your heart. Allow me to speak and pour out my presence and Spirit, don;t limit me because of time. Rather, surrender your time to me and experience a deeper presence than ever before."

Then, our leader, Aly, washed all of our feet and prayed for each of us individually. That was one of the most incredible things that anyone has ever done. Our leader humbled herself and showed how much love she has for her girls by serving us. I felt such an immense love and life just surround me and it took all I had not to cry. Her prayers are so powerful, yet so simple. Everyone always wants to show their authority and superiority, but she made herself nothing in service to others. It was a beautiful thing.
