God Time... 1/10/08

I was reading in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, which says, "To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

So, I asked God what He meant by this, and He said:"When you are most weak, I am most strong in your life. And you are most powerful when you are on your knees, even though the world sees that as a sign of weakness- it's not. My strength will come into the person who is humbly seeking me on his knees and admitting his human weakness. I know your pain, tears, and weak areas. You see the here and now, but I see the future and the person that will be because of these trials. Don't ever fall into the lie that I have abandoned you; I haven't and never will. Take heart and have joy in every circumstance and know that pain has a season- but joy will be the outcome. Begin and end each day on your knees and in that place you will find my immeasurable strength to live."

So, I thought that that was pretty amazing. How the world looks down upon weakness, but God recognizes it and loves it because His power can be made known. Its like in James 4: 6, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
