God Time - 1/13/07

James 1:2-4 ~ "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

So, this is really incredible. Here's what I wrote in my journal that I feel God was telling me about this:

"Suffering is part of the Christian life, and once we are saved not all of our problems go away. Rather, I venture to say that the problems increase. Our issued turn from being thing of the flesh to things of the heart and spirit-- deeper things that are the core of who we are. The enemy wants to destroy our lives, and the way he does that is by attacking our hearts because he knows that the heart is where our very core and existence in God lie. Like the Bible says, "Guard your heart; for it is the wellspring of all life." We are called to suffer because it shows God's power, greatness and faithfulness. Although the suffering and pain inevitable have their seasons, joy comes in the morning and joy will always be the outcome. If we can learn to press on towards the goal in every circumstance, no matter the way we feel, we will develop a deeper level of character, moral and maturity in Christ- so we may truely be, 'Not lacking anything'."
