AMAZING Tribe Meeting... 1/27/08

The other night I went to my small group/"tribe" meeting! It was the first time in a long time where I wasn't the only student to show up, there were 4 of us. It was great to have that group dynamic...even though I loved my one-on-one time with Aly. Anyway, we talked about Psalm 84 and it was really great to hear what God was speaking to all of us.

In verse 10, it says: "Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked."

This is what GOD spoke to me:
"Do you really believe this? Your time belongs to me and you must get to the point where you are willing to sacrifice anything to spend time with me. I want your time and attention, I long to be with you and speak to your heart. Allow me to speak and pour out my presence and Spirit, don;t limit me because of time. Rather, surrender your time to me and experience a deeper presence than ever before."

Then, our leader, Aly, washed all of our feet and prayed for each of us individually. That was one of the most incredible things that anyone has ever done. Our leader humbled herself and showed how much love she has for her girls by serving us. I felt such an immense love and life just surround me and it took all I had not to cry. Her prayers are so powerful, yet so simple. Everyone always wants to show their authority and superiority, but she made herself nothing in service to others. It was a beautiful thing.

New Favorite Song!

Jared Anderson- "Relentless Pursuit"

You amaze me,
others think I'm crazy.
But I have found a joy that will last.

You have changed me,
others think I'm crazy.
But I have found a joy that will last.

My heart is for You, I know it.
And Your love draws me close, I feel it.
And the times when I'm without faith;
You are in relentless pursuit of my soul.
You are in relentless pursuit of my soul.

I'm wholly devoted,
and not just a token.
I'm whole but I'm broken, Lord.

Really Good Scripture!

Romans 8:38-40

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

God Helped Me Overcome!

*I was hopeless and in the pit of destruction, but God helped my overcome.

*I was paralyzed by fear and anxiety, but God helped my overcome.

*I was bound by the chains of addiction, but God helped me overcome.

*I was infatuated with the opinions of the world and the need to please people, but God helped me overcome.

*I was insecure, but God helped me overcome.

*I was filled with anger, bitterness and hatred, but God helps me overcome.

*I was consumed with the ways of the world and in perpetual sin, but God helped me overcome.

*I had no one that I could trust, but God helped me overcome.

*I was empty and wanting purpose, but God helped me overcome.

*I was consumed with pain, but God helped me overcome.

*I was dependent on myself, but God helped me overcome.

THIS IS MY STORY OF OVERCOMING, WHATS YOURS?

"Overcome"

"Seated above, enthroned in the Father's love.
Destined to die, poured out for all mankind.

God's only Son, perfect and spotless one.
He's never sinned, but suffered as if He did.

All authority, every victory...is Yours.
All authority, every victory...is Yours.

Savior, worthy of honor and glory,
worthy of all of our praise. For You overcame.

Jesus, awesome in power forever,
Awesome and great is Your name. For You overcame.

Power in hand, speaking the Father's plan.
You're sending us out, light in this broken land.

We will overcome,
By the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
Everyone, overcome!"

God TIme- 1/22/08

My small group is doing a study of Psalm 84, and this is something that God was speaking to me.

Psalm 84:1-2 "How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God."

"You must learn to completely detatch yourself from the physical and the things of the flesh. Once you focus all your attention onto the things of the spirit and ignore the desires of human nature- the flesh and spirit simultaneously become one. The two different aspects will become united together in every way. The desires will not be the same and will always be God-centered and not man-centered. When the whole person is unified and undivided, then the man can be unified in spirit with God the Father and you will constantly live at His feet and in His presence. The Lord dwells within you and will transform your life into a beautiful and pure throne for Him to sit on- uncontaminated by the world. Heaven will come to earth once you realize the need to reject the physical and live completely within the spiritual side of life- then let the two become one and dwell in your very core."

Counting On God

I'm in a fight not physical
And I'm in a war
But not with this world
You are the light that's beautiful
And I want more
I want all that's Yours

Joy unspeakable that won't go away
And just enough strength
To live for today
So I never have to worry
What tomorrow will bring
'Cause my faith is on solid rock
I am counting on God

I am counting on
I am counting on God

The miracle of Christ in me
Is the mystery that sets me free
I'm nothing like I used to be
Open up your eyes you'll see

Kingdom Review Video!!!

What's Your Life In A Disney Song?

Your life now can be described by Hakuna Matata, from Lion KingYou are the epitome of chill. You know of no worries for the rest of your days. You know that life is about keeping it simple and just relaxing. Conflicts, stress, pressure---you don't let that kind of stuff get to you. You know who you are, and you like that person; and you really just like where you are in life right now. People enjoy being around you because of your surfer-dude attitude and easygoing vibe. You could go anywhere and lighten the mood with a joke or just with your confident, happy smile. You know what the most important things in your life are and you don't concern yourself with all that petty jazz.

God Time - 1/13/07

James 1:2-4 ~ "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

So, this is really incredible. Here's what I wrote in my journal that I feel God was telling me about this:

"Suffering is part of the Christian life, and once we are saved not all of our problems go away. Rather, I venture to say that the problems increase. Our issued turn from being thing of the flesh to things of the heart and spirit-- deeper things that are the core of who we are. The enemy wants to destroy our lives, and the way he does that is by attacking our hearts because he knows that the heart is where our very core and existence in God lie. Like the Bible says, "Guard your heart; for it is the wellspring of all life." We are called to suffer because it shows God's power, greatness and faithfulness. Although the suffering and pain inevitable have their seasons, joy comes in the morning and joy will always be the outcome. If we can learn to press on towards the goal in every circumstance, no matter the way we feel, we will develop a deeper level of character, moral and maturity in Christ- so we may truely be, 'Not lacking anything'."

God Time... 1/10/08

I was reading in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, which says, "To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

So, I asked God what He meant by this, and He said:"When you are most weak, I am most strong in your life. And you are most powerful when you are on your knees, even though the world sees that as a sign of weakness- it's not. My strength will come into the person who is humbly seeking me on his knees and admitting his human weakness. I know your pain, tears, and weak areas. You see the here and now, but I see the future and the person that will be because of these trials. Don't ever fall into the lie that I have abandoned you; I haven't and never will. Take heart and have joy in every circumstance and know that pain has a season- but joy will be the outcome. Begin and end each day on your knees and in that place you will find my immeasurable strength to live."

So, I thought that that was pretty amazing. How the world looks down upon weakness, but God recognizes it and loves it because His power can be made known. Its like in James 4: 6, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

What Kind Of Smile Do You Have?

You have an Innocent Smile! Sweet and naïve, you have a smile that is full of genuine happiness. You have a pure heart and when you smile, you mean it and everyone around you knows you do. People are attracted to your sweetness and sincerity, and find your company refreshing and enjoyable. With your open and non-judgmental smile and personality, you will often find people confiding in you.

News Flash!

I heart VitaminWater!

English Please!

Ok, So some people have requested that I translate my last post. This is such a beautiful song- I love it. It talks about how we can see God in the people we see everyday. In a sick person, in a widow, in a homeless person, and in that orphan on the street. These are the people on God's heart and where we can see His desperation.

Jesus Adrian Romero- Ayer Te Vi...Fue Mas Claro Que La Luna

Ayer Te Vi- (Yesterday I Saw YOU.)
Fue mas claro que la luna - (It was clearer than the moon)
En mi no quedaron dudas -(There was no doubt remaining in me)
Fue una clara aparicion -(I was a clear appearance)
Me ha saltado el corazon -(My heart jumped)
Cuando te vi -(When I saw You.)

Ayer te vi -(Yesterday I saw YOU.)
Despues de buscarte tanto -(After seeking You a lot)
Antes de salir el sol -(Before the sun rose)
Y pedirte que me dejes -(And ask You that You allow me)
Ver tu rostro en oracion -(To see Your face in prayer)

Ayer te vi -(Yeasterday I saw YOU)
Te vi en un niño de la calle -(I saw you in a child of the street)
Sin un lugar para dormir -(without a place to sleep)
Te vi en sus manos extendidas -(I saw You in his extended hands)
Pidiendo pan para vivir -(Begging for bread to give him life)
Te vi en sus ojos suplicantes -(I saw You in his pleading eyes)
Y en su sonrisa titubiante -(and in his smile)

Ayer te vi -(Yesterday I saw You)
Te vi en un cuarto de hospital -(I saw You in a hospital room)
En soledad te vi llorar -(In loneliness I saw You cry)
Te vi en el rostro tribulado -(I saw You in a troubled face)
De un enfermo desauciado -(Of a mistreated sick person)
Sin esperanza de vivir -(With no hope of living)
Cansado de tanto sufrir -(Tired of so much suffering)
Ayer te vi -(Yesterday I saw You.)

My Future After High School!

So, if you don't know this, I am currently a senior in high school and am finding out what my life holds after graduation. I feel that God has called me to be a Desperation Intern at New Life Church. After much prayer and seeking God, I feel that this is where I belong and where I need to be. It is all about creating leaders and intensifying your pursuit of God. Living a life of desperate pursuit, a consecrated heart, a focused life, and diligent prayer. It is to pursue perfection, choose joy, stay steady and lead strong. If only I could put into words for you how excited I am about this, I would, but that would be impossible. It's going to be the most incredible year of my life, and I cannot wait. Oh, man. God is so great! Here's the website: desperationinternship.com

My Life...

Hi friends! This is my first real blog, apart from myspace and facebook. First of all, I would like to tell you a little bit about me. I am the youngest of 7 kids and have an amazing family and incredible friends. But where my heart truely lies is in my relationship with God. Jesus Christ is my King, Savior, and first love. He is my universe and means the world to me. Eyerything revolves around Him. I strive everyday to live a life of holiness and worship to please Him and exalt His name high amoung the earth. My pursuit of Him is what defines my life adn I will never stop chasing. My second greatest passion is the Spanish language. My life is here to be poured out in service to latin nations, especially Mexico, by spreading the name and love of God. God has especially given me a heart for orphans and my dream is to open a home for teenage girls in Mexico that have been abused, violated, and abandoned. I wish to tell them that someone cares, that someone's heart breaks for them, and that there is hope.
My mentor is a woman named Ivette who has completely changed my life and inspires me to follow God's plan no matter what the world says. And my best friend is a girl named Aly. I've only know her for about 4 months, but we have connected on such a deep level and she presses me on in my pursuit of God more than anyone I know. Well, that's just a little snipet of my life, but watch out... there's more to come.
